First of all, you need one or more photos on your computer of yourself that are in either JPEG, JPG, BMP or GIF format. They cannot be huge files (sometimes when you take photos with a digital camera the file size is very large because it captures a lot of detail). The pictures you upload can only be at MOST 250 KB. If you have no idea what this means, ask a friend that knows a little about computers to help you.

Remember, the photo or photos need to be ON your computer. In other words, you have a file on your desktop that is called “Personal Photos” or you have a computer folder called “My Pictures” and this is where your photos are. If they are not on the computer, you will need to save them on the computer from your (or a friend’s) digital camera or you can scan a photo on a photo scanner.

In order to add or change images on your profile, you first need to be logged in. Please first enter your username and password in the “Member Login” area at the top of the page.

Then once you are logged in, look at the top area of the page, around the middle. You’ll see a button that reads “Images”. Click on the “Images” button.

Now you are at the Images page. See the blank box that has a button next to it that reads “Browse…”? Click on the “Browse” button and you will see a new window that will browse your computer. Go to the top of this window and click on the right side “drop down” box. Here you will see the contents of your entire computer. Find the folder that your photos are in and then double click on the actual photo file that you want to upload. Once you have double clicked the photo name, the window will disappear.

You will then see the beginning of the file path written in the previously empty box to the left of “Browse…”. Now, either choose “Show on Profile” or “Private Image”. “Show on Profile” will allow everyone that sees your profile to see this image. “Private Image” is or people you start talking with and at some point in your relationship you want to show them a different photo that you might not want to share with the entire community. You can send a private message to that person and you will be shown how to insert it into the private message very easily.

Once you have chosen, click on the “Upload New Image” button.

Give it a minute to upload and a little longer if the picture is a larger one- the program is now uploading your image to your profile. You’ll see when its done because your image will appear on the page when it has been successfully uploaded.

Now, only one of these images can be your “Main Image”. This I the image that everyone will see when they do a search and find your profile. When they click on the profile they will see the other images you put on there.

The “Mail Settings” is a button at the top of the page after you login.

When you click on it you’ll see “Mail and Message Settings / Restrictions”. This is the page that you can customize so that ONLY certain people can contact you. If you don’t like smokers and don’t want them to contact you, click on the “Smoke” box that blocks them from contacting you.

If you only want Men between the ages of 45 to 55 to be able to contact you then close “Male” and choose the numbers “45” and “55” in the “Age Between” boxes.

This is also an important area for one other reason: what you choose here will combine with the information on your Profile in order to find out what people are the right matches for you. The information on your Profile and your Mail Settings combine to make up the results on the “My Matches” button. When you click on “My Matches” you may see some people that are “suggestions” from up because they match up with a lot of the things you like and don’t like.
